We did substantial amount of work this week to talking about sorting and counting mechanism, as well as how to analyze worst case scenarios.
This is a rather good intergration with the CSC108 and programming. However this time, it's much harder than writing the code. Now we have to logically reason the code, and what's worse is that we have to make proofs about sorting mechanisms.
We also did some work with Big Oh, which was really really confusing. I feel a little left behind in this course and is really eager to catch up. The assignment and the tests are next week and I am sooooooooooooo worried!
I am going to go to the office hours and try to figure out the right way to reason and solve profs. Hopefully it will help me.

Week6
This week again was a short week due to Thanks giving, and unfortunately for us, it means that the three hard proof lectures are now compressed into two. We also got back our test, and the test marks turned out to be nice for me. I got slightly above the average which was 80%, and I am quiet satisfied.
The course continues to get harder. what's worse is that it is also one of the midterm weeks, so I also had to study for many other tests alone with CSC165.
I find the hardest part of this week to be proof about limits. As I said previously, Limits have always been a confusing concepts for me, let alone proving it. Proving something false, that is, proving the negation is true, is rather simple for me, and I was able to understand it
Gona keep work on proofs and hope it gets better

Week 5
Week 5 was the midterm week. I was very nervous on Monday and prepared the test really hard. I almost spent the whole night studying and doing practices.
However, the test turned out to be a little easier than I thought. Almost all questions except for the last one was rather straight forward, and I believe I did very well on the test.
Due to the test, we only had two lectures this week, but I completely fell behind. The proof is a great challenge for me to understand and work on. Since I have never seen this structure before, it has made me very frustrated and upset. Hopefully things will get better as I continue to practice and review the contents.
Midterm weeks are tough! No time to focus on CSC165. I really need to figure out a way to manage my time well.

Week4
This week is very confusing for me
The idea of asymptotic has been very difficult for me to understand ever since high school. I have always had problems visualizing infinity. The idea of double quantifier is also rather complicated. It took me quiet sometimes to understand it.
The hardest part of this week tho, is the proving part.It is my very first encounter of mathematical proof and the whole procedures and way of reasoning just seemed to be very difficult. I got very worried when I was unable to derive out the proof of many problems given in class. They are strange, weird and I don't know where to start.
Going to the tutorial helped me a bit, and getting more practices definitely did too. I am beginning to grasp onto proving and hopefully I will get better at it.

Week 3
CSC165 Week 3
Week 3
In this week, we studied about negation, implication, conjunction and dis conjunctions. It was a quiet interesting week as the materials we studies are very logical and enlightening.
However, I found it to be particularly hard sometimes to differentiate between the antecedent and the conclusion. Furthermore, I find ti difficult to prove and understand the laws regarding implications, such as distributive law and De Morgan's law.
The negation part was rather easy. I was able to understand how to properly negate an implication. For instance, in order to negate "for all", we use a counter example "there exist". And in order to negate there exist, we use for all. In order to negate a conjunction, we use "or" ext.
Overall this week has been easy and understandable.
